6-Month Milestone Family Photos in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, NY

For the second half of this six-month milestone family photo session, we left the beach behind and settled into the family’s cozy, quiet home located in Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island, NY. Their daughter's nursery, done up in soft pink with a sweet bunny theme, became the perfect backdrop for this next chapter of photos. The moment she was set down, she was all smiles, rolling over and showing off her new skill like she knew she had an audience. Everyone had a quick outfit change, which allowed the family to play, laugh, and feel comfortable in their home while we took photos during their session.

As a New York Family Photographer, sessions like this remind me why I love pairing an outdoor half with time spent at home. You truly get the best of both worlds and two outfits! Six Months, Sandy Toes, and Outdoor Family Portraits on Long Island, NY

There is something about a baby's first time touching sand that is truly worth remembering. One minute, we were setting up for their outdoor family portraits on a quiet Cold Spring Harbor beach, and the next, this little girl's toes were pressing into the sand for the very first time. I work with families across Long Island and New York City, and this family chose their local Cold Spring Harbor beach for the first half of their daughter's six-month milestone session.

On the morning of the session, the sky moved between clouds and soft patches of sun. For families with young babies, timing is everything. We scheduled this session right after the baby's nap, and it made a real difference. She arrived in a great mood and stayed that way through the whole beach portion of the morning.

One of the most common questions I get before an outdoor family portrait session is what to wear. I always work through this with families ahead of time because the right clothing makes a real difference in how the final images feel. For this session, mom wore a flowy dark green dress that moved with the breeze and photographed beautifully against the sand and sky. Dad kept it classic in a crisp white button-down and dark khakis. The baby was dressed in an adorable yellow romper, and the color palette felt natural without being matchy.

Welcoming Twin Boys: An At-Home Newborn Session in Long Island

There’s something truly special about being invited back into a family’s life to capture their most cherished milestones. As a New York City Family Photographer, I’ve had the privilege of photographing this wonderful couple’s engagement and wedding, and now, their intimate at-home newborn session with their precious twin boys.

Being in their own space allowed this family to relax and soak in the early days of parenthood. Long Island Family Photographer - Milestone Session

It’s always the right time to take photos of your family and milestone sessions are the perfect mix of photos and fun. They are short and sweet by design and allow for older kids to be themselves. I absolutely love milestone sessions for this very reason and so do my families just like this sweet party of five who live on Long Island, New York. It was our second milestone session on the water near their home and the lighting was absolutely perfect. A walk along the dock, playing near the tall grass, and even going out on the bay to take a few action shots. I’m thrilled to share a few of my favorite photos from this family milestone session.

Hamptons + Long Island Family Photographer

On a perfect morning in July, I met up with one of my dearest families and photographed them on the beach in Montauk, NY. It was such a fun and sunny morning together capturing their two girls play in the sand, discover the rocks and waves and run around enjoying the peak of Summer. It was our first mini milestone weekend in the Hamptons and I’m so beyond excited I was able to document so many families in a place that they each hold dear.
