Six Months, Sandy Toes, and Outdoor Family Portraits on Long Island, NY

There is something about a baby's first time touching sand that is truly worth remembering. One minute, we were setting up for their outdoor family portraits on a quiet Cold Spring Harbor beach, and the next, this little girl's toes were pressing into the sand for the very first time. I work with families across Long Island and New York City, and this family chose their local Cold Spring Harbor beach for the first half of their daughter's six-month milestone session.

On the morning of the session, the sky moved between clouds and soft patches of sun. For families with young babies, timing is everything. We scheduled this session right after the baby's nap, and it made a real difference. She arrived in a great mood and stayed that way through the whole beach portion of the morning.

One of the most common questions I get before an outdoor family portrait session is what to wear. I always work through this with families ahead of time because the right clothing makes a real difference in how the final images feel. For this session, mom wore a flowy dark green dress that moved with the breeze and photographed beautifully against the sand and sky. Dad kept it classic in a crisp white button-down and dark khakis. The baby was dressed in an adorable yellow romper, and the color palette felt natural without being matchy.

Bridgehampton Beach Session with Family Photographer in NYC

There’s nothing I love more than photographing a family in a place that already feels like home. For this Bridgehampton session, we met on a quiet stretch of beach on a cloudy summer afternoon to capture a little boy’s very first season by the ocean. His mom grew up spending summers nearby in Sag Harbor, so coming back here with her own baby felt extra special.

We kept things simple and baby-led. There were snuggles in mom and dad’s arms, a few quiet moments in the dunes, and lots of giggles when the breeze picked up. At this age, it’s less about perfect poses and more about capturing the way your baby looks at you, how tiny they still feel in your arms, and all those little details you never want to forget. The soft light, the sentimental location, and their relaxed, thoughtful wardrobe all came together to tell their story in a simple, genuine way.

If you’re dreaming of photos that feel like your family - calm, natural, and full of connection - choosing a favorite place and letting your evening unfold is a beautiful place to start. I’d love to hear from you!

50th Wedding Anniversary Photos in Montauk, New York

Some sessions just stay with you, and this one absolutely did. To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, this sweet couple gathered all of their children and grandchildren in Montauk for a relaxed beach family session. No big ballroom or fancy party - just the ocean, the sunset, and the people they love most. It was simple, genuine, and such a beautiful way to honor five decades of marriage.

We met at Kirk Park Beach just before sunset to take advantage of that golden hour glow. The light was soft and flattering, which is especially helpful when you’re photographing a big group with different ages and personalities. As soon as everyone’s feet hit the sand, you could feel the energy shift. The grandparents relaxed, the kids got curious, and the whole vibe went from “we’re taking photos” to “we’re just hanging out at the beach together.”

If you’re heading to the Hamptons or celebrating a milestone like a wedding anniversary, I’d love to help you document it. Whether you’re local to New York City or traveling in, a laid-back family session in Montauk or anywhere in the Hamptons is such a beautiful way to celebrate the people who mean everything to you
